Lighthouse charity shop

The Lighthouse Charity Shop on Gloucester Street, near the bottom of The Parade, in Leamington, is a vital fund-raiser for Helping Hands – but also much more than this. It is a friendly, welcoming venue which lives and breathes the supportive ethos of Helping Hands.

Open between 10am and 4pm from Monday to Friday, the shop is a valuable source of revenue to help power all our other projects. It is also a vibrant community hub. Run by manager Sue and assistant manager Jamie, assisted by their team of fantastic volunteers and supported volunteers, a warm welcome is offered to all visitors, whether they come to donate, or to buy, or just to drop in to find out more about Helping Hands!

The volunteer helpers include some of our clients getting a taste of voluntary work as part of a “hand up.” They visibly grow in confidence from helping others and making a real difference and take a valuable step towards employment.

The shops sells all manner of clothes and bric-a-brac, donated by our brilliant supporters in the community. We also distribute clothing vouchers to those in need to spend at the shop.

"In 2017 I was homeless and came to helping hands to volunteer, this gave me a hand up and a purpose to get up each morning . With the support of P3 I was given somewhere to live .

Helping Hands has been a great support to me , I am now a paid assistant 2 days a week and get to help lots of other people who need support"
