Gateway Café

Our Helping Hands Gateway Café is a welcoming place run by our volunteers, people training for work in the catering industry and our supportive team – Johnny, Sarah and Chris. You are very welcome to pop in for a cup of tea, join us for a barista coffee and cake, an all-day breakfast or a light lunch.

The Gateway Café is one of the places where we help people to regain their confidence and gain new skills. We give people support and opportunities to gain qualifications and get ready for work.

The cafe is a very welcoming and supportive place. If you would be interested in volunteering, please get in touch with our cafe manager on

"The Helping Hands Gateway Cafe is a life changing experience - not only does it help with qualifications and experience it helps with confidence and mental health. It’s also an amazing place to be with amazing staff who support you and the cafe is a religious and spiritual place where you can relax and with the help of friends and God can be able to express yourself without judgement. Helping Hands changes so many lives it’s an amazing charity and I am honoured to be part of the Helping Hands family."
